St. Albans School for Boys True Lucas Building

Washington, DC

St. Albans School required the complete renovation of its 40k SF c. 1929 Lower School. A new 10k SF Gothic Revival addition was also added with new administration offices, classrooms, and library. Art studios, a music hall, and science labs were also designed.

Services included Programming, Zoning Approval, Complete A/E Design, and Interior Design.

Special consideration was taken to relate the new addition to its historic context. Additionally, the improved facility created an important focal point within the campus.

St. Albans School for Boys True Lucas Building received the 1996 AIA Award of Excellence from the Washington Chapter AIA.
