Chatelain Architects was approached to expand and renovate the interior to an existing 1972 library facility. The scope of work included expanding the perimeter of the floor plan by up to 10 FT on three sides of the building to capture potential floor area previously unenclosed.
The project goals were to 1) advance the academic culture of the school by providing a library which will foster and encourage the pursuit of higher education and is valued and respected by the institution, faculty, and students alike; 2) make the library the academic center of the campus by increasing the use of the library as a resource and study space; 3) provide a space with a variety of study spaces for a variety of learning styles: individual, collaborative and instructional; and 4) create a library that is welcoming in resources, furnishings, and staff.
Services included Programming, Feasibility Study, Complete A/E Design, and Interior Furnishings & Fittings.
