Founded in 1930, Chatelain Architects celebrates over 75 years of design excellence. Chatelain Architects provides comprehensive services in architecture, master planning, space planning, and interior design. We are proud of our client-focused approach to working through a design and construction project, and seek to provide elegant design solutions that are in harmony with the surrounding environment. We currently focus on educational facilities, projects for non-profit organizations, flag-ship restaurants, and residential projects. Our office is located in the historic Cleveland Park neighborhood of Washington, DC, and our international client base extends from the Mid-Atlantic States to Maine, Michigan, California and Massachusetts, and abroad.

Our firm is comprised of a multilingual staff of design professionals—registered architects and CAD-proficient designers—who work in a collaborative environment to find appropriate solutions to a wide variety of design challenges. Chatelain Architects provides a variety of continuing education opportunities to staff to further the firm's knowledge base and provide up-to-date information to our clients.

Our designs have been recognized by several organizations for design excellence in architecture, historic preservation, craftsmanship, and innovative approaches. These organizations include: American Institute of Architects, American Association of School Administrators, Washington Building Congress, The Masonry Institute, Associated Builders & Contractors, American School & University, and Interiors & Sources.
